Summer Session 2026

Summer Session 2026

Summer Session I

  • RST 015Y Reading War/Fighting War | Danny Dyer
  • How do we know if a war is “just” or “unjust,” and how can religion help us tell the difference? In this course, students will participate in “just war” discourse by engaging with the philosophers and theologians who have sought to explain why and how people should engage in military conflict. Paired with these theoretical readings, students will encounter firsthand testimonies of United States veterans as a way of understanding the lived realities of warfare. Course attendance entails two weekly meetings as well as self-paced, online work.
