Summer Session II (August 2 - September 10)
This course will introduce and explore the New Testament, the sacred text of Christianity worldwide, in addition to the many contexts it has been interpreted. Along with becoming familiar with the text itself, students will read broadly on how the New Testament has been interpreted in favor of and against gender equity, slavery during the American Civil War, liberation movements around the globe, and many other issues. No prior knowledge is required.
