Alon Raab, Lecturer in Religious Studies, comes from Israel where his ancestors have lived for the past 300 years. His classes include First and Second year Hebrew, The Bible through Film, God and Satan, and the Israeli-Palestinian Encounter through Film and Literature. His recent and forthcoming publications include co-editing "The Global Game: Writers on Soccer", an anthology of global literary writings about soccer, including work by Gunter Grass, Elvis Costello, and Subcomandante Marcos (University of Nebraska Press.); The chapter "Ben Gurion's Golem and Jewish Lesbians: Subverting Hegemonic History in two Israeli Graphic Novels," in "The Jewish Graphic Novel"- edited by Samantha Baskind and Ranen Omer-Sherman (Rutgers University Press.); And the entries on the history of the Israeli peace movement, and sports in Israel, for "The Cambridge University Press Companion to Jewish History, Religion, and Culture" edited by Judith Baskin and Kenneth Seeskin.
